As a local parent and publisher of Macaroni KID Summerville & North Charleston, I recently had the opportunity to get an exclusive sneak peek inside Southeastern Academy of A&T, and I brought along my toughest critics: my own children.

From the moment we pulled into the driveway, they were completely captivated. Between visiting the farm animals, exploring the outdoor learning spaces, and simply having the freedom to dig in the dirt and discover the world around them, they didn't want to leave. In fact, if I had let them, they probably would have stayed all day.
What immediately stood out to me was how intentional every aspect of the campus feels. This isn't a school that simply talks about thinking outside the box, it has been built around that philosophy. In fact, the campus itself reflects that mindset, featuring triangular architecture that immediately sets it apart from a traditional school setting. Every detail has been thoughtfully designed to encourage curiosity, creativity, and hands-on learning. Even the honeycomb-shaped tiles throughout the school were chosen with purpose, representing pollinators and the important role they play in our ecosystem.

Located conveniently on Highway 17A, Southeastern Academy of A&T offers a refreshing educational experience that combines academic excellence with nature-based learning. Accredited by the South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA), the school provides a curriculum that exceeds South Carolina educational standards while fostering children's physical, emotional, social, and academic growth.
One of the most exciting things about Southeastern Academy of A&T is that they are brand new and just beginning to welcome families into their growing school community. As they prepare to roll out their upcoming Open House, local families will have the opportunity to get an inside look at the campus, meet the team, and experience firsthand the unique approach to education that sets them apart. After spending time on campus and seeing how excited my own children were to explore every corner of the property reminded me of something simple: children are naturally curious learners when given the space and opportunity to be.
Southeastern Academy of A&T has created an environment where that curiosity is not only encouraged, it's celebrated.
